Learning (in under a hundred words)

Learning is different than being taught.

Learning is falling off your bike. Hard. And then getting back on and trying again.

Learning is spending hours in the batting cage. During December. And January. And February. And March.

Learning is figuring out how to tie your shoe. How to play Folsom Prison Blues on the guitar. Geometry.

Learning happens when students (and by “students” I mean “humans”) are put in a position in which they may fail, and they decide that succeeding is worth the effort to try.

Learning matters.
